See DetailsA chopping board, also known as a chopping board, is an essential item in the kitchen. It is used every day to cut vegetables, and if it is worn out, a new one must be purchased. The cutting boards sold in supermarkets are often processed in factories, and the surface of the boards may be contaminated with some harmful industrial substances. So the newly purchased cutting board needs to be cleaned and disinfected before use. Below, the editor will talk about its cleaning and disinfection methods. Let's take a look together!
Cleaning method for new cutting boards:
1、 After buying the bamboo cutting board, clean it with boiling water, as the surface of the cutting board is coated with a layer of wax before leaving the factory, and both sides of the wax need to be washed off. After washing, soak in concentrated salt water for 1 hour. The salt is hygroscopic and can prevent the cutting board from drying and cracking.
2、 After drying the washed bamboo cutting board, deal with the problem of thermal expansion and contraction. The method is to drill a hole in the middle of the cutting board with a diameter of approximately 5 to 10 millimeters. Just plug this hole with a small wooden strip (if you don't have drilling conditions at home, you don't need to do it).
3、 After moisture-proof and thermal expansion and contraction treatment, a protective layer should also be applied to the bamboo cutting board. Boil the cooking oil and pour it evenly on top with hot oil, allowing the cutting board to come into full contact with the oil. Then let it dry and let the oil be absorbed by the cutting board. Finally, rinse with clean water.
Disinfection method for new cutting boards:
1. Washing, ironing, and disinfection: First, use a hard brush and water to clean the surface and gaps of the cutting board, and then rinse it with 100 ℃ hot water.
2. Sunshine disinfection: The ultraviolet rays in the sunlight have the effect of killing bacteria. When not in use, the cutting board should be exposed to sunlight. This can not only kill bacteria, but also dry the cutting board and reduce bacterial growth.
3. Vinegar disinfection: After cutting fish, just sprinkle some vinegar on the cutting board, let it dry in the sun, and then rinse it with clean water to prevent any fishy smell.
4. Salting disinfection: After each use of the cutting board, use a knife to scrape off the residue on the board surface, and sprinkle a layer of salt on the board surface every 6-7 days. This can not only kill bacteria but also prevent the cutting board from drying and cracking.
5. Scallion ginger disinfection: If the cutting board is used for a long time, it will produce a strange odor. Wipe the chopping board with fresh scallions or ginger, then rinse it with hot water while brushing it with a brush, and the strange smell will disappear.
